Hiddensee
This car-free island is the perfect destination for a day trip and boasts stunning unspoilt natural beauty. You can reach the island by ferry or water taxi from Schaprode or Stralsund. On the island, you’ll find a well-developed network of walking trails – for example, along the cliffs – as well as numerous beaches for swimming and relaxing. Our tip: Visit Hiddensee’s landmark, the Dornbusch lighthouse, situated at the highest point of the island.
Crane Tours
From September to October, visitors to the Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft National Park can marvel at one of the largest crane roosting sites in Central Europe. The best way to experience this natural spectacle is from the water, by boat. We recommend the approximately 4.5-hour round trip from Schaprode.
